Parents Ordered to Pay School Fees Via E-citizen Paybill

The Ministry of Education has issued a directive requiring parents or guardians with learners in national schools to make fee payments through the eCitizen platform.

This new method is set to become active on February 6, 2024. The circular, addressed to principals, emphasizes the alignment of school particulars with the government system. Notably, this directive exclusively pertains to national schools.

School heads are tasked with providing their respective bank details, adhering to the specified format of account name, bank, account number, bank code, and branch code.

The Ministry asserts that this transition aligns with the government’s broader agenda of integrating all services onto the e-Citizen platform, aiming to improve service delivery.

In compliance with the directive, parents and guardians are instructed to submit fee payments through the designated platform.

The circular, signed by Education PS Belio Kipsang, outlines the preparation for the launch, including the submission of institution bank account details to the office of the Director General, State Department for Basic Education, before February 6, 2024. Submissions should be made via email to dg@education.go.ke, with a copy sent to sa.basic@education.go.ke.
