Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has instructed its Sub-County Directors (SCD) to identify, nominate and vet Centre Managers, Supervisors and Invigilators who will take part in this years’ national examinations.

In a circular dated September 20, 2022 to all TSC Sub-County Directors, the Commission Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Nancy Macharia directed the

officers to forward the names of the successful candidates to the Contracted Professionals (CP2) system of Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) latest October 18, 2022.

During nomination, the sub-county bosses have been instructed to ensure that they deploy one supervisor for every 200 candidates, and that they should not

deploy any supervisor for hosted and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) centres except for centres with KPSEA candidates only.

Only one Invigilator is required to be deployed for every 20 candidates with the Commission directing the SCDs to

deploy Invigilators to hosted and KPSEA centres based on the number of candidates in the examination center.

Further, both hosted and hosting centres will be required to have their own Centre Managers.

However, the hosting Centre manager will be expected to collect and return examination materials to and from the container.

“Take note that the number of supervisors and invigilators should be adhered to especially during optional papers.

The Centre Managers should ensure only the required number of supervisors and invigilators report each day of examinations and online attendance taken on daily basis.

This will ensure teachers will not be idling in examination centres with no role to play,” said Dr. Macharia in the memo.

According to the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) timetable, the candidates for Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) will have

their rehearsal done on November 18, 2022 before starting their examinations on November 21, 2022; which will run until December 23, 2022.

Those who will be sitting for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and Grade Six (6) candidates who will be sitting for their national summative

assessment, KPSEA, will have their rehearsals done on November 25, 2022 and start their examinations on November 28, 2022 to November 30, 2022.

On the other hand those in Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) will have their Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) starting on November 21, 2022 after their rehearsal on November 18, 2022.

They are expected to complete their examination on November 25, 2022.
