IEBC Announces Major Changes In It’s Leadership Structure.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has appointed Marjan Hussein as the Commission Secretary and the Chief Executive Officer.

 

 

The appointment was made on Wednesday, March 9, by the Commission Chairman, Wafula Chebukati.

 

 

 

 

Prior to his appointment, Marjan served in the acting capacity since the unceremonious exit of Ezra Chiloba in 2018.

IEBC had announced a vacancy in the position and received hundreds of applications but settled on Marjan whom it termed as the most suited candidate.

 

 

 

 

The electoral body advertised the position on Friday, December 24, and it stated that it was looking for a suitable candidate who can assume the role even as the country heads to the polls in less than nine months.

 

 

 

 

Mr Marjan holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi and BCom (Accounting Option) from the same institution.

 

 

 

 

He is also a certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certification in Control Self-Assessment (CCSA), Certified Quality Assessor (CQA) and is also a practicing Member of ICPAK in good standing.

 

 

 

 

Mr. Marjan is also a member of Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA) as well as a member of Institute Internal Auditor (IIA).
