Scholarships: UoN Announces 137 Scholarship Programmes, See How To Apply

Students seeking to advance their academic qualifications can now do it for free after the University of Nairobi (UoN) announced scholarships availability.

 

 

 

 

In a notice shared on Monday, August 29, the University noted that it was offering 137 masters scholarship in the 2022/2023 academic year.

 

 

 

Interested applicants were advised to make their submissions in the month of September with the deadline pegged on September 23.

 

 

 

 

“University of Nairobi is offering 137 masters scholarships for the 2022/2023 academic year. The applications are open only to applicants for the September 2022 intake,” read the notice in part.

How to Apply

The notice further indicated that the scholarship is conditional and tenable for a period of two years except in course where the Masters degree lasts longer than two years.

These fields include the Departments of Medicine and Dental Sciences, which run for four years.

 

 

 

Applicants should have completed and graduated with an undergraduate degree from the University of Nairobi in the academic year 2021/2022 except Departments of Medicine, Dental Sciences and Nursing Sciences which requires mandatory two (2) years practical experience before admission into the masters’ programme.

The scholarship is also open to students who possess either a first class honours or second class upper division.

 

 

 

“Scholarships are for full time students only; the student has to take the maximum number of units per semester, and successful students must comply with the terms and conditions of the scholarship and complete their studies within the stipulated programme duration,” added the statement.

 

 

 

To apply, interested candidates must send their letters addressed to the deans of their respective schools.

 

 

Each application must include an application letter addressed to the Dean, letter of admission and certified copies of degree certificate and transcripts.

 

 

 

 

Once successful, the scholarship must be taken at time of offer with no deferments or withdrawals.
