Big Blow To Unemployed Primary Teachers As TSC Sends A Circular Limiting The Following Categories Of Teachers From Applying For 2053 Slots.

Teachers Service Commission recently advertised massive recruitment of teachers for both primary and secondary teachers.

TSC announced the recruitment of 2,945 teachers of which 2,053 were for Primary and 892 slots for Secondary school to replace those who had exited the service through natural attrition.

News details have emerged after TSC has sent a circular clarifying of the category of primary teachers who are legible for the advertised jobs even as the applications are on going.

According to the to the circular, the commission has clarified that for primary school teachers new applicants will not be accepted for the 2053 advertised slots. The commission instead has said that selection will be done from the list of those who had applied during July 2021 massive recruitment but were left out.

However, the circular stated that the recruitment of the 892 slots meant for secondary school teachers will go on as planned.

The TSC move is going to largely affect unemployed primary school teachers who did not apply during July 2021 mass recruitment and were looking forward to try their luck for the first time to secure a TSC job.

The whooping applicants who where shortlisted in the last year’s massive recruitment indicates that there are still many teachers who have not secured TSC permanent and pensionable job in the country.

In the last employment, the commission announced 9,000 vacancies for both primary and secondary schools and received applications of about 350,000 applicants.
