0 633

TSC teachers earn a variety of allowances in addition to their base monthly income. Allowances are given based on a variety of criteria, including the location of a teacher’s work station, his or her job group, responsibilities, and even the number of students he or she supervises.

Teachers are entitled to two types of stipends:

Remunerative $ Reimbursable

NOTE: Reimbursable allowances are refundable upon application, whereas remunerative allowances are provided with the basic wage.

There are two different kinds of remuneration allowances:

Automatic.

Those who were compensated at the time of application.

Allowances that are made automatically

Allowance for hardship.

Allowance for leave.

Allowance for commuters.

Allowance for housing.

Allowance for medical expenses.

1.Hardship allowance

Teachers who work in TSC-designated hardship areas receive monthly hardship allowances based on their job group/grade. Hardship allowances are distributed to teachers as shown in the image below.

2.Allowance for leave

This type of allowance is normally paid once a year, in January, with the previous year’s income.

As illustrated in the graphic below, this allowance is paid based on one’s job group.

3.Commuters Allowance

This allowance is distributed on a monthly basis to all instructors, based on their employment category.

This stipend is paid based on the employment group of the individual.

4.Allowance for housing

All teachers receive a stipend for their living expenses, which is determined by their job grade and workstation.

In comparison to teachers in lower employment groups, those in higher job groups receive higher housing allowances.
