According to Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, the recruitment will strengthen the technical capacities of the Colleges to develop the range of technical and vocational skills in the students they have admitted.
Machogu made the remarks when he commissioned Chemasiri Technical and Vocational College in Teso North Subcounty in Busia County on Friday.
The CS said the government recently recruited 1,300 new instructors who will join the rest of instructors to strengthen the capacity of TVET colleges to train students.
He said the government is giving priority to TVET to help furnish practical skills to young people to serve an economy that requires technical and vocational skills.
Machogu also noted that TVET colleges will equip young people with globally marketable skills required in Germany and other European countries.
The CS further expressed government’s commitment to establishing technical training institutes in all the Constituencies
