In the latest requirements, one must have at least a C- in cluster subjects in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE) in order to enroll in KMTC to pursue a certificate course
Inorder to enroll in diploma programs, one must have obtained a minimum grade of C in cluster topics.
Basic requirement for one to upgrade kmtc courses, a candidate must hold a certificate in the relevant discipline.
Note all candidates for Higher Diploma programmes must have completed a Diploma course in accordance with the following requirements.
1.Duration For Higher Diploma Course Requirements
Basic Entry Requirement;
One must be a holder of basic Diploma in relevant fields and at least a minimum of two years working experience.
Specified duration of training is one (1) year.
2.Duration for Diploma Course and Requirements
The Basic Entry Requirement;
Willing candidates to join must have KCSE mean grade of C (or equivalent) with relevant combination of other subjects such as English, Kiswahili, Biology, Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Physical Sciences.
The Specified duration of training;
The training takes 3 years except Community Health Nursing which lasts 3 ½ years to complete.
3.Duration and Basic Requirements for Upgrading
Basic Minimum entry Requirement
One must be a holder of a certificate in relevant fields and at least two years working experience.
The duration of training;
The training takes 2 years except Community Health Nursing which lasts 18 Months.
4.Duration for Certificate Course and Requirements
The Specified Entry Requirement;
One must have a minimum aggregate of C- with relevant combination of other subjects requirements.
Specified duration of training takes 2 years with the exception of nursing which takes 2 ½ years to complete.
Guidelines on Kmtc Short Courses
Basic Entry Requirement;
It is guided that those individuals and groups such as corporate bodies, companies.
As well government ministries interested in any course or courses can make a written request for arrangements to be made to necessitate the offering of these courses.
The Specified duration of training;
The training is expected to take 2 weeks – 3 Months to complete.
