KUPPET leadership treats teachers to Grand Soccer tournament in Migori County.
KUPPET leadership of Migori County headed by the County Union Chairperson Mr. Henri Otunga and the Executive Secretary Mr. Orwa Samwel Jasolo one more time hit the news headlines for the best reasons, teacher unity and talent nurturing.
The move comes just a few weeks after the same KUPPET county leadership had successfully rolled out a robust program for mobilizing and motivating teachers of Migori to take advantage of the Kenya National Examination Council KNEC training to train as examiners. The leadership of the union curved out funds towards partial sponsorship for 40 qualified teachers for training exercise that yet to kick off between 3rd – 9th October, 2021.
While briefing teachers and interested parties on various projects to undertake in the interest of teachers, Mr. Henri re-echoed his teams solid commitment to faithfully serve the teachers’ interested in whatever way permissible by the unions binding constitution. All he asked for was teachers’ continued corporation which, so far, he admitted he immensely enjoys.
The Soccer tournament was tailored to draw the full participation of teachers serving in Rongo, Awendo, Uriri and Ntimaru Sub Counties of Migori County. The cheerful event took place on Sunday 19th September, 2021 as was scheduled at Nyarach Secondary school football field which, the organizing secretary Migori County KUPPET, Mr. Kevin Odhiambo dubbed, Estadio De Anfied. Mr. Kevin who saw the success of event right from organisation levels, in a very elated mood thanked teachers of Migori for deeming the event noble and owning it at instant. He extended gratitude to Mr. Abuya Meji for hosting such huge number of teachers comfortably. Kevin was the event organizer.
The program of the day saw Rongo face off Uriri at early hours of the day. Awendo, thereafter battled it out with Ntimaru before sliding into the finals which attracted more celebrations than anticipated. At the final stage which was battled out between Rongo and Ntimaru, Rongo successfully contained Ntimaru eventually lifting the coveted Orwa Jasolo sponsored glittering trophy. The match ended at a sweet 3:0 in favor of Rongo.
In his address, the executive secretary, Mr. Orwa Jasolo thanked the KUPPET team, all teachers and interested parties for their immense support so far and strongly affirmed to continue to deliver on his team’s agenda just as he had always made it a norm. His re-election, he said, was not in vain. He added that when teachers are satisfied and happy, KUPPET office is also happy. The day ended with promises of better tidings towards teachers welfare as celebrations of a kind stubbornly rented the sweat-scented air.
